Ok for me!
Let me just a little time to take my harraps and don't be surpised if sometimes you cant understand what I mean! But, in every case, my english will be better than my spanish!!!
So, here we are with 4 guys, does someone have a preference for the side?
Will we play with the "home rules" or standard one?

Arnaud
12/03/2004, 10h44
Should we try standard rules for the first multiplayers game?

La Grande Armée for me (please :) )

Grosbil

I have an other idea: we begin with house rules and, if it seem to be too hard, fall back to standart...
No preference for the side!

Hi, we are talking about taking or not some rules that we could apply to the game, these home rules will tend to have a more accurate game.
There are two kind of thing:
1st, some little points to apply, here they are:

Infantry:
Infantry units can't move less than 2 hexs of a cavalry unit with at least 2xx men or more except if:
1) They are in square formation,
2) A leader of their formation (or higher) is with the unit. This leader must stay with the unit so long as it stay 2 hexs or less from cavalry.
If cavalry is 1xx men, the rule don't apply.
If infantry unit is surrounded, this rule didn't apply, in this case, the unit can do all in order to break the line.

Skirmisher:
1) Skirmishers can move in clear/field only if a formed unit is within 2 hexs,
2) Light/guards units must keep 250 men in a formed unit, they can't be entirely deployed in skirmisher, except for french units,
3) It is prohibited to fire (infantry/artillery) across your own skirmisher except if they are at a lower elevation from the firer or the target.

Artillery:
1) Artillery can't be deployed in castle.

2nd, a modification of the game turn:
We are playing turn (phase is too loong for PBEM) but with respect to a "home sequence":
1) You move/charge/make fire with every unit you wish
2) You make all your melee attacks, as soon as you begin melle, you have to resolve all
3) You move/fire units that didn't be used in point 1 and 2
It seem to make a turn more complicated but it allow a battle with respect to history...
Look at this link, I will translate soon...
Here it is http://campaigns-france.org/forums/index.p...&st=0#entry3836 look for screenshots...
See you soon, and, in every case, we can begin the game and continue discussion about these rules.
So ffak french
I have no preference so, we are waitnig for Tortue Agile, he could choose its side and, we could begin...

I think it should be better to said the Empereur than the Emperour

By a matter of fact the 1809 campaign was the first one which opposed a national army in the french ennemy camp against a coalition of French and Allies. It's really the first time Napoleon engaged Corps with nationalities (VII with Wurtemburgers, V with Bavarians, IX with Saxons).
The only such occurence of this fact will be the 1812 campaign in Russia

pecadolr

OK then I will defend the Holy German Empire againts this little thief of crowns and will restaure the legitime king to the trone of France.

(And the "national" austriam army was form by polish, czhecs, hungarese, italians, etc etc... :) )

Grosbil

Well, so we are with David & Arnaud as the french and Pecadolr and me as the austrians.
For the rules, I think we should take:
Victory point for leader casualties
Isolation rules
Melee terrain modifiers
Target density modifier
Weak ZOC
Partial retreats
Line movement restriction
Flank moral modifier
Multiple cavalry melee
Multiple infantry melee

David seems ok for the house rules, what about Arnaud and Pecadolr?
I send my mail to everybody by pm; do the same...
David & Arnaud, you have to begin, Pecadolr, we will speak about strategy and units repartition...
See you soon
