Il est possible, Dan.

To do so is easy to do but fairly detailed. Sorry for the English, if you have a problem following all of it maybe somebody can translate it fully for you!

After you create your scenario and set the dates with the year being 1942, you need to open up the scenario file with a text editor, such as wordpad. Then using the find or search function, look for 1942 and change all years to 1940. All reinforcements must be changed, if any, releases, or other items that use the date. If it would help, I would be happy to change the file for you, it just takes a few minutes to make sure ALL of them are changed, or the item not changed will never be used in the scenario.

I have had to do a similar thing with the same game for a later scenario (hypothetical) that occurs after 1943). And you must be careful with any further changes as the system will resave all dates as 1941 if you don't select a date when editing something that is already in. So best thing might be to wait to make the text editing changes until you are finished.
