The Update has been in test for a while and is looking good - we hope to get it out soon. Note - please finish up your v1.01 games before you update as INSTALLING THIS UPDATE WILL INVALIDATE EXISTING BATTLE FILES due to extensive changes overtime in updates to the game and the OOB.
There are a number of developments in this patch which are to support future titles of the Series, but there should be plenty to interest TFB Players.
Features include:
- Added new Force March feature (see Movement section of Users Manual).
- Added 2D map counter display in unit picture.
- Added new Headquarters feature (see Command section of Users Manual).
- Added new Isolation and Morale rules (see Supply section of Users Manual).
- Added Optional Rule that prevents support units (Art, AA, AT) from blocking the retreat of non-support units as a result of combat.
- Added Nation Data Dialog (see Help Menu).

· The Movement factor of a Detached unit is half of normal (Note: this does not combine with the Out-of-Supply effect). This reduction does not occur when the unit is Embarked or Entrained.
· When a Detached unit attacks, its Attack factor is half (Again, this is not combined with the Out-of-Supply effect). However, a Detached unit defends with its normal Attack factor and always has its normal Defense factor.
· A Detached unit recovers Effectiveness at half the standard rate.
· A Detached unit cannot take Replacements.
The net result of these effects is that a Detached unit can stand and defend normally, but is limited in its ability to attack and maneuver. For the player, this means that they should position their headquarters units where the most critical action in the scenario is occurring so that they have the ability to respond in that area. Units in areas of the scenario that are not seeing action or are conducting a static defense can be left Detached with no adverse effects.

Interesting... Thanks Rick. How does it change a scenario like the France invasion?
The HQ rules is optional. I do not think it will have a major impact, unlike in the Soviet Untion where the distances will make them critical for an attack.
The isolation and morale rules will have a large impact in France. Isolated pockets will no longer be very difficult to crush, unless the units have high morale. Each nation has a morale set by year, from A to F (in 1940, France is D, Britain C, German A) which is used to determine a defense reduction if isolated.

A tester donc!
